Wavency is mobilizing for RAP Jeunesse

As winter sets in in Quebec and temperatures drop, Wavency has chosen to take a concrete action to support the most vulnerable members of the community in the boroughs of the North Island of Montreal. From November 20 to December 15, the members of the team organized a warm clothing drive from their families, partners and collaborators for the benefit of RAP Jeunesse, an organization well established in the neighborhoods of Ahuntsic, Bordeaux-Cartierville, Bordeaux-Cartierville, Parc-Cartierville, Parc-Extension, Parc-Extension, Saint-Laurent and Montréal-Nord.

The initiative, launched first internally and then to the surrounding community Wavency, aroused a remarkable outpouring of generosity. In the space of three weeks, the agency was able to count on its partners and families to amass over 100 winter items, ranging from coats and beanies to boots, mittens and scarves. For the Wavency team, this project went beyond a simple clothing collection: “RAP Jeunesse works on a daily basis with young people and adults who are experiencing very difficult realities and which are accentuated with the arrival of winter: poverty, isolation, residential instability, residential instability, psychological vulnerability... With the arrival of cold and snow, these challenges become even heavier to bear, literally. We wanted to contribute in a useful and concrete way, while being kind and realistic in our initiative,” explains Maude Belval, co-founder of Wavency. This partnership made it possible to put each item directly into the hands of the people supported by the organization. According to RAP Jeunesse, the need for winter clothing remains urgent every year, and actions like these make it possible to experience winter with a little more warmth and dignity. Beyond the numbers, the experience also reinforced a sense of collective commitment within Wavency and its community, so several actively participated in the collection. For Wavency, this initiative is part of a wider desire to act as a positive actor where the agency evolves. In short, the donations collected this winter are a reminder of something essential: when a community mobilizes, even a coat, a pair of mittens or a blanket can really change someone's daily life.
